The first kilometres of the E60 in Barcelona

During the just ending week, the E60 was tested in Barcelona by the engineering department of TMB - the Catalan city's public transport company - to assess its performance on different routes and in many different conditions, as well as its consumption, benefits and range.

The E60, which is 6 m long, is powered by a series of lithium-iron-phosphate batteries that provide a range of 175 to 215 km and has 10 seats and a capacity to carry up to 29 people, including a disabled person. In terms of accessibility, it also has a low floor and a kneeling device to reduce the distance between the door and the kerb.

This test phase of the 100% electric vehicle is part of a collaboration between TMB and manufacturers of public transport vehicles, in line with the promotion of the use of technologically advanced technologies in terms of cleanliness and ecology.

At the moment, TMB's fleet of electric buses includes nine articulated buses with pantographs, which it plans to expand by the end of 2021.
