Electric mobility reaches the Tigullio

Another important step towards green mobility was presented today with the introduction, on an experimental basis, of two electric buses on line 82 connecting Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino. This is the first electric experimentation in the eastern metropolitan area involving two of the Tigullio's most popular locations.
The service will start on an experimental basis tomorrow, Thursday 22 July, and the two electric buses in service on route 82 are our E80 100% electric buses. The e-buses have an over night charging system.
"Sustainable mobility is central to the strategy of AMT and proof of this are the services with electric vehicles already started in urban areas - said Marco Beltrami, President of AMT - The Rapallo - Santa Margherita Ligure - Portofino has potentially interesting features for electrification, this trial of two months will allow us to have all the information to proceed, with the support of the Metropolitan City, the detailed design of the service and the quantification of the necessary investment. This is another step by AMT towards an increasingly ecological and sustainable public transport system.
